Art Dubai marked its 20th anniversary this year, and with it came one of the fair’s most interesting editions in recent memory.
Across Madinat Jumeirah over May 15 - 17, presentations moved between historical reflection and future thinking, with galleries, installations, talks, and ambitious works offering different ways of looking at art in and beyond the region.
For a fair marking such a major milestone, Art Dubai felt intimate this year - something I really enjoyed.
There was a sense of connection across the presentations, with conversations between works, galleries, and ideas feeling more l cohesive. In a moment when many art fairs can feel increasingly oversized and overwhelming, this felt like a welcome shift.

For its 20th anniversary, Art Dubai brought together an exciting mix of experimental, contemporary, and master works from across the region and beyond. The fair felt intimate and cohesive, reflecting on its history while remaining firmly rooted in the present with an eye toward the future.
